IP&IT LAW winners to be awarded at RIGF 2021
The awards will be presented during the forum’s opening ceremony
On April 7, on the first day of the 11th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2021), the IP&IT LAW 2021 winners will be awarded. The awards will be presented during the forum’s opening ceremony.
This year, about 100 entries were submitted to the competition, about two and half times more than last year. They were forwarded to the competition jury for consideration.
Many regions were represented at IP&IT LAW 2021 including Siberia, Altai, the Urals and Volga region and Central Russia; students from the Republic of Belarus also took part in the competition.
The most popular topics this year were, “Video games and intellectual property,” “Corporate identity: Remedies and methods of legal protection” and “Legal issues of protection and protection of non-traditional trademarks.”
In addition to the winners of the main competition, the winners of special categories established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the ICANN will be awarded at RIGF 2021. The winners will also receive diplomas from the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, and the winner in the Ratio of Antimonopoly Regulation and Intellectual Property category will be awarded a commemorative prize from the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia.
The contestants were encouraged by Marina Rozhkova, President of IP CLUB and Chairperson of the Competition Jury: “This year a lot of serious and well thought out entries were submitted to the competition; the jury has a difficult task. But until the jury passes its final verdict, I wish the contestants good luck and in any case not to be satisfied with what they have already achieved.”
The names of the winners and nominees will be announced on March 25, 2021, and the intrigue of the competition will remain until the awards ceremony: the winners are traditionally announced during the presentation of prizes.
IP&IT LAW is organized by IP CLUB in cooperation with the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ domains, and is held under the auspices of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications.
